Water Park Fun!

As summer starts to wind down we decided to take a day and head to Canada for some water park fun @ Calypso!  We all had an amazing time and are super excited to have purchased season tickets for 2017.  We will be sure to visit this hot spot a few times next season and now have something to look forward to.  While we enjoyed every aspect of the park, these are some pics of the girls most favorite attractions:

Zoo Lagoon

Pirates Aqua Play
This week I started teaching a graduate class so for the next few months the girls will be having dinner and going through their bedtime routine alone with daddy on Tuesdays.  On Wednesday morning Claire-Bear was up early, asking to snuggle before I headed back to work.  This was a moment worth stopping for!
Over the weekend we visited SUNY Potsdam to attend the Welcome Weekend Carnival.  Although this is intended for the College students, the event coordinators incorporate some fun for children of students and faculty as well.  Daddy took the girls around while Mommy scooped icecream!  Here's a little peak at some of the events of the afternoon:

And at home later, while daddy grilled some dinner, the girls painted their little banks on the driveway since this activity was too crowded at the carnival.

Last week we took Claire-Bear to kindergarten visit day but unfortunately her teacher couldn't be there due to a funeral.  Since Claire already knows Mrs. Hahn this didn't rock her world.  She still enjoyed finding her cubby and riding around town in the school bus!

2016 Summer Vacation!

The cousins together on vacation!
This year we planned a family gathering in Canaan Valley, WV at Black Bear Resort.  All of mommies sisters, and grammie and pa joined in the fun.  Aunt Jeanie, Uncle Doug, Jordan, and Darren also made the trip.  We had a wonderful time!  Unfortunately Mom's phone is broken and had to be sent out so we don't have as many photos to capture the fun as usual.

DelGrosso's
On the way to WV our family decided to break up the trip.  We left Wednesday night after golf league and drove into the night before stopping at a hotel in Altoona, PA.  In the morning, we surprised the girls by making a stop at DelGrosso's Amusement Park in Tipton, PA.  We spent two-hours playing at the water park until a storm came in and halted our fun.  Since it didn't look like it would clear anytime soon we continued on our trip.  It was a terrific stop though with lots of family fun!

This week daddy went back to College!  Well, sort of.  He spent the week training with some Clarkson University students on how to teach Robotics in his classroom.  This meant the girls were able to spend two days playing with Kelsey, and two days at pa's house.  When the weekend hit, we headed off to Burlington to volunteer for a weekend at RMH.  On Saturday after spending a few hours at North Beach, we crossed town to the mall and bought a few new clothes for the start of school, which will be here before we know it!

We've been promising the girls a sleepover with Gigi and Cami so after returning to NY we headed to their house for a BBQ and drop-off.  They were so excited!
On the Ferry
While in Burlington we had a visit with Caroline, Esme, and baby Eli.  The girls just loved seeing the baby and both wanted to help feed him!

Up Next: Kindergarten visit day for Claire.  While she knows Mrs. Hahn already it will be an exciting day to drop off her school supplies, visit her classroom, and see which classmates from pre-k she'll be with this year!

August Happenings

Our girls love putting on shows!  This summer they've started to actually put together scripts and choreography together into a cohesive "show".  It's great to see them putting their creativity to work! These particular photos happen to be a rendition of Katy Perry's "Roar".  (And isn't that the cutest little Claire-Bear you've ever seen?)

This past week daddy had a golf outing in Canada so the girls spent the day with Niece.  They had so much fun and Claire-Bear literally crashed on the way home!
Our Silly Lily Cat!

Grammie and Pa went on vacation this past weekend to see the races at  Watkin's Glen.  Since they usually take Great Grandpa for a walk on Sundays, our family decided to take him for his outing on Friday evening.  I knew if I tried on my own he wouldn't agree but that it'd be hard for him to say no to Randy!  It was a breezy but warm night but the girls were able to see the outside setting of the nursing home and for Claire, practice an exercise in taking care of our family even if it's sometimes "boring".
All of us continue to appreciate being able to swim in Lorri's pool next door, but especially the girls!  We bought them some goggles to try out which they are loving!  As a special treat this weekend they were able to splash around with Aaron and Cheyenne, who were staying at Lorri's.

It's been a quiet summer at Brasher Falls UMC and our girls have been the only children at services for the most part.  They are enjoying partaking in the services though by getting worship started with the lighting of the candles.

Other weekly news: Saturday we visited the SUNY Potsdam Creative Arts Camp to see a few of the camper showcases.  Then after a little shopping we headed over to 'Swing Time mini golf' and met up with some cousins who were in town for a family reunion.  Sunday we stopped by the Matthews Reunion and visited with cousins.  Stella and I left a bit early to head over to Krista's baby shower.  It was a busy but fun weekend!

Up next - our family vacation in Canaan Valley.  All of the Goolden Girls will be together for a few days and we are all so excited!
