Christmas 2016

Kindergarten Christmas Concert
December has been a really fun month at our house, and while we are celebrating the 12 days of Christmas so the holidays aren't over for us yet, here's some of our fun!

Mommy took a day off before Christmas to help with 1st grade craft day.  I stayed and had lunch with Stella afterward, and was able to see Claire-Bear across the cafeteria!

Stella is really such a good helper at home.  Here's a pic of one of our shopping lists she put together for me.

We had a lot of fun crafting this season.  Here are more glitter ornaments we made for our church family (which the girls were thrilled to hand out on Christmas morning), and some chocolate spoons we made for the 'Moravian Love Feast' we shared with our church family that day.

On Christmas Eve day, we felt prepared enough to enjoy McDonald's breakfast, and make a quick stop at the mall.  Mommy checked out the JC Penny sale just for fun, and the girls rode the mall critters.  It was really nice to not be rushing around doing last minute things.  Afterward we went to Aunt MJ's and Uncle Neil's for dinner.  At 8 o'clock we went to church for the Christmas Eve service and witnessed a family being baptized.  It was a special service but a tad late for the girls so Claire laid down in the pew and went to bed!

Christmas morning was spectacular!  The girls were very grateful this year, and took turns watching each other open their presents.  We opened some gifts, took a break to worship with our church family, and then came back to open more gifts.  We had a ham lunch with grammie and pa before they headed home.  Here are some pics of the fun we had Christmas day:

Mommy had a few days off after Christmas so we've had other fun! Santa brought the girls figure skates, so we tried that our for the first time and had such a nice time we went back the next day for more!

We also went to Canton to watch daddy's team play in a tournament.

Mommy took the girls to a play date with one of Stella's classmates, Lydiana.  The parents had so much fun talking and the girls all played so well together, before we knew it, 5 hours had passed!

Stay tuned for more fun: a visit with Uncle Ryan, New Year's Eve, and Stella's 7th birthday are all coming up!

Holiday Giving

In the spirit of giving, and our love for crafting (particularly mommy and Stella's), we made some gifts for our teachers this year.

We made glitter ornaments for our Awana teachers who we are so grateful for.  They've welcomed us into their church nearly every Sunday night since September, and our girls really enjoy the time they spend there.

We made some snowman mints for all of their "specials" teachers and as many support personnel as we could think of at school.  Stella really had fun making these!  Claire could take it or leave it but joined in the fun for a little while.  We put some together for Mommy's colleagues while we were at it. Yum!

Over the weekend we had the Britton's over for a sleepover, and Claire had a party at the mall arcade for her friend Nadia.  She had a wonderful time and needed the break from the fun at home.

December Fun

Today we attended the VFW annual holiday children's party.  The girls had a nice time making crafts and visiting with Santa!

On Friday Mommy visited school to make a gingerbread house with Claire.  She loved sticking on all of the candy pieces, but wasn't so happy about being told later she couldn't eat it!

Some other happenings:

The girls had a ball at Zach Tudor's wedding!  Not only did they get to see Niece and Kalub, they both danced and danced!  Stella even one the musical chairs game.  (She won at Awana the next night too, but who's counting?!)

These little monkeys play so well together, most of the time.  One night they were playing tag in the living room before bed.
