Another School Year Complete

June flew by and the last day of school has arrived!  The girls love school and have already said how much they will miss their teachers, but they are excited for summer break too!

Mom was happy to visit Claire's classroom this week to watch a video and celebrate with a sweet treat.  This past week the girls helped put together some goodies to lots of folks at school as a thank you for such a great year.  Both girls had terrific report cards and are thriving in the public school environment.  We are so glad to see them so happy and healthy!

Here are some pics of some other happenings since our last post:

A visit to  Barnhart Beach on a Sunny Saturday afternoon!

Our New Chore Chart
Since the girls are getting older we decided to start giving them an allowance to help learn about money.  We've opted not to tie their weekly allowance to chores though, and rather allow them to earn money doing extra things (if their room is clean) to help save money for the toys they really want to buy.  Stella is super excited about this!  Claire really hates to clean so she's not jumping on board with this so easily but she's already seeing the things Stella buys when she is patient and saves her money, so it will be interesting to see where this goes!

Sunday morning worship and a picnic with Norfolk at the Brasher Falls park.  We got rained out but it was still a fun get-together.

Blue Slushie!

The girls were super excited to have their headphones from school at home.  We have already had many conversations about electronics and summer time.  This will be a daily conversation for the next two months I'm sure!

Last weekend Rylin and Jackson came for a sleepover.  We had a nice time with them.  Here are pictures of the girls at Children's Church, and one of Jackson who snuck out with Aunt Beth Friday night for some peace and quite from the girls!

We joined our AWANA friends for an end of the year celebration with a bowling and pizza party.  The girls loved it and it was great having daddy join in the fun!

Some Fun Stuff!

Stella earned a spot in the 2017 St. Lawrence Central Elementary Spelling Bee this year!  We were so proud of her for standing up in front of a packed cafeteria and spelling out loud.  She even won first place for the first grade!

The girls helped with our church ministry shares project again this year by decorating, stuffing, and hanging envelopes.  They looked great and hopefully this effort will help raise lots of money for our denomination!

Stella loves art and was especially proud to tell us her cover drawing for the 1st and 2nd grade concert won third place!

 Memorial Day Weekend!

Our family tradition to participate in the Memorial Day Parade with the VFW in Canton continues.  Here Stella is cutting apart stickers for Buddy Poppy volunteers to hand out during the parade.  The Saturday before Memorial Day both girls handed out Poppies.  Claire was the runner up for Queen, missing out by only a few dollars!
