Catching up on January

A winter storm brought lots and lots and lots of snow!
Since starting a new job back in May it's been harder and harder to keep up with the blog.  I'm hoping to continue with monthly posts though to capture our family fun!  Here's a look back at how we spent the month of January:

The girls and I made homemade chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting one weekend afternoon.   The girls weren't crazy about the frosting but Momma was!

The girls asked to put on a fashion show one afternoon so we put on some Kidzbop tunes and they gave us a show!  They coordinated all of the outfits and poses themselves.  How'd they know I love fashion so much?  (Could it be how religiously I watch Bold & the Beautiful?)

Preparing for Valentine's Day:

Stella loves to make arts and crafts.  Claire does too, but not as much as Stella.

Stell-Bell will choose crafting activities over most other!  She made this paper heart banner without prompting and hung it up all on her own.  She was very thoughtful about her Valentine's, and with a little help from Mom's Cricut and Dad's folding/gluing, she was able to decorate these little boxes to look like Tsum Tsum's so she could fill them with chocolate hearts.  She had a lot of fun making these!

Claire chose candy-filled plastic hearts for her classmates and ate all the extra's right up!

Lazy Lily!

Stella was awarded a gift certificate at school from Hot Tamale.  We are so very proud of both our girls for how well they behave at school.  So, when we took a trip to Potsdam for their dentist appointments one week day, we stopped by Hot Tamale for dinner too.  The girls loved it, even though they were out of brownies!

We joined Girl Scouts!  Claire has been asking, especially because her friend Makala participates, and I reluctantly agreed.  Not because I don't believe in Girl Scouts (I was a Girls Scout from K-10 grade), I'm just very conscientious about over extending our family - especially with the demanding careers Randy and I both have.  Our troop meets just twice each month so I'm hoping we can easily fit this into our routine.  So far, the girls are absolutely loving it!

At the first meeting Claire learned about money, and Stella made Valentine's for Seniors.  They both really enjoyed their first meeting!

And, we also started selling cookies!

2018 has started off nicely for us.  Time may be flying by, but we are making the most of it!
