VBS & 4th of July

Participating in Vacation Bible School at Victory Baptist Church is just an awesome way to start out our summer.  The kids absolutely love it!  This year was the Rolling River Rampage and they learned to find Adventure, Acceptance, Joy, Rest, and Peace on the River!   Stella's favorite part was craft time with Ms. Beverly and Ms. Jackie, and Claire said "I really like it all!"

#When you pass through the water I will be with you Isiah 42:3.

Not only have the girls retained this information (I am writing this blog post a week later and they were able to tell me both the verse and rapid reminder) this year the nightly offerings had an impact.  They shared with me what they learned about, and were particularly touched when they heard about the Children's Heart Project.  We are so pleased the folks at Victory incorporate this awareness and compassion toward other's.  We can't wait for next year!

The first week of summer we celebrated a special milestone with our 10th Anniversary.  Randy was away for a Master Teacher Conference but made some-what surprise arrangements for the Britton's and Grammie and Pa to help with the girls and I met with him in Long Lake for the night.  It was a great trip to the Adirondack's and while short full of relaxation and fun.  We had dinner on the patio of Adirondack Hotel and drinks on the porch, coffee in the morning on the second-floor porch, and even ventured above the mountains on a sea plane tour.  On the way home we stopped in Tupper Lake at their brewery for lunch.  We are so appreciative to friends and family who helped make this happen!

While many options await on the 4th of July, this year we decided to stay home and do some things around the house in the morning and enjoy our pool and a bbq with friends.  As always the girls were elated to have Gigi and Cami over for the afternoon.

Someone is looking forward to hanging
out with dad on the course this summer

We also enjoyed Riley's Carnival themed 8th birthday party and were excited to find out Stella and Riley will be together in the same classroom again next year with Mrs. Davis.
