Sleepover Fun & Games with Makala and Bri brought nothing but smiles all around! |
Oh, Canada! Nerds for dessert did not disappoint! |
Daddy convinced the rest of us to play a family game of Monopoly. The girls hung in there but he's the reigning champ. I've never beat Ran at Monopoly...
More sleepover fun, with lots of imagination and creativity to go with it!
Wedding Weekend! Congratulations Kendra and Nathan. The adults enjoyed an evening out while the girls had a sleepover at Grammie and Pa's house!
The girls waiting in anticipation for the annual Welcome Weekend Carnival at SUNY Potsdam. Since Piggy was left behind somewhere, they were really looking forward to making a new stuffed animal friend, and asked fairly regularly when it was, and if we were invited! Just as past years, it was a great event and the girls had a lot of fun!
The girls worked on a girl scout badge by watching a caterpillar transform into a beautiful butterfly.
Thank you to Miss Sue for coming up with the idea for our troop, and thank you to our friend Allison who supplied us with a caterpillar after our attempts to drive around back roads and search milkweeds failed! This entire process was a great learning experience for our girls and the transformation was an enjoyable experience for our entire family. The girls named our caterpillar Morgan, because were sure of the gender, but researched this and our butterfly was a girl! She didn't want to fly away right away so the girls were able to get some great pics!
We fit in some snuggles while the girls enjoyed "Duck Tales", a remake of a favorite cartoon from mom and dad's childhood!
And I'm pleased to say that another family game night of Monopoly ended Randy's reign over the game. I was the first one out and went to bed, but I found this in the morning, along with excitement about Claire-Bear beating daddy (I was probably most excited)!
Out local mall has seen a tough decline over the past decade, and sadly the hockey rink which brought many people out, has been closed for some time. In a revitalization effort a turf field has been installed and the girls and I stopped by their grand opening carnival. It was all fun but most notable were the bounce house obstacles they've never tried before!
Just as summer came to a close, we made a point of challenging Stella to try her bike out again. Within minutes she was riding on her own. She's so proud of herself, her sister has been super supportive in lending a hand and cheering her on, and we are in awe about just how very big she is becoming!
It's off to 2nd and 3rd grade tomorrow!
