February 2019

February was busy!  We missed out on capturing the Tri-Town WinterFest fun in photographic way but the girls shared the day with Gigi and Cami and it was great fun, as always!  Momma joined in by participating in the 'Hungover Relays' with Kathleen.

Lots of fun this month we were able to capture a few pics of!
Dressing like a 100-year old for 100's day

    New outfit for Valentine's Day

AWANA Super Hero theme night (just before Valentine's Day)!

100's Day Spaghetti Dinner and Math Night @ School:

While visiting the gym Mommy admired Claire's name on the Pacer Test board.  While it's exciting to see the girls excel in running, what is most gratifying is being able to offer words of encouragement about what a great job Claire does in a subject she complains about.  She seems to really like Mr. Dow, but isn't so fond of 'getting all sweaty' or not being able to wear a dress to school.  What a kid!

Shoe Shopping!  These are Claire's, and she wanted to send Grammie pics.  Stella (and Mommy) bought new shoes too, but weren't so eager to share the news.

Cardboard Sledding with our Girl Scout Troop (which quickly turned into regular sledding I'm told...)

Basketball, basketball, and more basketball.  This year the girls were more interested in watching the game than ever before.  This also meant they were more in tune with their daddy's behavior court side.  It brought some teachable moments, and gave Mommy the chance to really watch the games for a first time in a while.  This was a great year, and it was sad to see it end with a loss at the Sectional Championship game.

I found this notebook tracking and realized apparently Claire has inherited her dad's love of winning!

Sleepover with the Britton Girls!  They were all so looking forward to having some time together and really enjoyed playing.  We borrowed daddy's Christmas gift and it was nice to wind down with a big screen movie.

During February break we went to Plattsburgh for the Night and met up with Carolyn and Esme at the Comfort Suites for swimming and arcade fun!

Passing some time over winter break playing board games, creative writing, reading, and snuggling with Lily Cat!

We celebrated Wyatt's birthday at his skating party, and fit in some other visits to the rink to skate as well!  We also cheered on some friends, particularly Matty Straight and Kennedy at youth hockey.

AVON Calling!  Grammie sponsored a booth and bingo during the Canton Winterfest in support of the Senior Citizens club so I spent the morning with her helping out.  All the folks who came seemed to really enjoy themselves and it was good for Grammie to sell some of her product.

A little sillyness at home!  It seems like as much as we try not to over-schedule ourselves, we miss out on time at home.  The girls often say they just want to be home to play.

One weekend we visited the Children's Museum with the Britton girls for an afternoon of fun!

Claire-Bear was recognized at the SLC Academy Awards for being generous in PE class.

We have much to be thankful for and continue to feel very blessed for our family, friends, and community.

    January 2019

Happy Birthday Stella!  We celebrated at Grammie and Pa's house with some ice cream cake and brownies.

This year for the birthday bash we had a get together with friends at the Chilly Delight Frozen Yogurt shop in Potsdam.  As usual, Stella planned most of the party, choosing decorations, games, and prizes.  It was great fun!

Balloon stomp, pin the nose on the snowman, and a dice game kept everyone busy for a while.  And for favors the kids all got to choose a circle on the punch board.

    Some other happenings this month:

Post-Children  Church fun!  Here's Claire working with Miss Claudia on folding her game.  Claudia is a retired elementary teacher and was happy to lend a helping hand after worship!

Some school work to be proud of:

First the Mini Cooper, then the Van!  On an icy afternoon driving home from work I was unable to stop quickly enough in front of the Catholic church in Potsdam.  I hit some ice and slid into the stopped car in front of me, who was waiting for another car to turn left into the church.  I wasn't moving fast, but even so a lot of damage was done.  The van was a total loss.  Replacing both of our vehicles within 7-weeks of one another was not fun, but thanks to Frazer Motors (again!) we were able to find a preowned van just like the one we've grown to love so much.

Visiting Daddy's classroom and admiring his creativity!
