PEEPS!

The girls elementary school featured a fun holiday themed diorama project for Literacy Night this year.  Students who  participated made a diorama after a scene from a favorite book, and used Peeps to create the characters!

This project left a mess in our kitchen for days, transforming the space into their very own art room!  A little secret - Momma eventually rushed this project along because the mess could not be tolerated any longer!  The dioramas turned out great and the girls were both proud of their work and so were we!

Speaking of Art, Stella was chosen to have a piece of her work from school showcased in a local Art Show.  So on a Saturday afternoon, we picked up Grammie and drove to the Frederick Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg to check out Stella's work!  She was all smiles to show us her 'Extra, Extra, Fish All About It!' mixed media design!

Frederick Remington is famous for creating depictions of the American Old West and there are lots of neat items in the museum we were also able to enjoy during our visit.

Literacy Night Fun:

Momma had to work all of Spring break but daddy and the girls enjoyed some nice down time at home.  We enjoyed dinner out and friends over too!
The girls chose their OWN table!
This year, we decorated Easter eggs with whipped cream.  The girls had fun trying a new technique!

On the night before Easter Grammie and Pa came down for dinner and a sleepover.  The Easter Bunny hid eggs outside, and left a scavenger hunt behind for the girls to find some Nurf Guns.  That made for an interesting morning, Nurf Wars included!

After church we headed over to Grammie and Pa's house to spend the afternoon and share an Easter meal together.  It was a relaxing day a great way to end the week.

March 2019

This month was Girl Scout Cookie Month!  Not only did the girls have hundreds of their own sales to sort through, they opted to work many cookies booths with their troop too - five I think was the total booth count.  Needless to say, Momma was happy to see the season come to an end!

Daddy also joined in with the cookies chaos!

Daddy was a loyal customer!

This year the musical at SLC was extra special, not only because they performed Beauty & the Beast, but also because our neighbor Savannah was Belle!  The girls really enjoyed the show and some of our Girl Scout friends were also on stage!

Claire has been wanting to learn about fractions so we decided to do some cooking and see if we could figure them out.  Turns out, Stella has been learning them at school and she was able to help out!  Claire made some no bake cookies, and Stella made some Banana Bread.  And Claire happily knows basic fractions now!

Claire graduated from participation in Speech Therapy at the end of January and we promised we would do something together to celebrate as soon as we had the chance.  After thinking about it a little, she decided she wanted to visit a trampoline park.  So, we ventured off to Vermont for a night.  It was a quick trip, but we were able to fit in a Ronald McDonald House volunteer training in the morning, and then spend a few hours jumping.  Esme joined us for the fun, and we celebrated with Fro-Yo afterward before heading back to NY!

Easter Season is upon us and both girls were asking to make Easter Cakes.  While neither of these cakes were eaten other then a few small bites, lots of fun went into the decorating!

Claire earned her blue wings at
AWANA and was so proud!
