August 2023

Stella kicked off the month of August with a new recipe - a homemade cookie cake. It was delicious!

Claire joined Madilyn on a Bingo Trip with her grandma and won two times!

The girls played in a summer softball league with some brasher friends and while they couldn't go every week, they enjoyed to nights they could make it and wrapped up the summer season with some ice cream at Town Line Market.

   Claire's Creative Arts Camp Showcase:

Claire was in the play 'My Classmate is an Alien' and played a character named Benny. She did a spectacular job learning all of the lines and knowing where to stand on stage.

Madilyn played a newsbroadcaster and everyone enjoyed the humor her play offered!

After show pics - some pretty silly!

Overall it was a really great experience for both Madilyn and Claire. We are so glad they took advantage of this opportunity!

Randy left at the end of the weekend for a camp in Long Island. We took some time during the week to spend with friends hanging out at home, but also a day trip to Calypso:

The last camp of the season was in Western NY. Since Randy was in Long Island, and Stella needed to meet up with him for one more week of PGC, we decided to meet up in Niagara Falls. The girls and I arrived early and headed over to the Canadian side to have dinner at The Tower.

We then played some indoor black-light mini golf while we waited to get some views and pics at night! On the walk to the entertainment area we saw this mangy fox running around!

The next day we took the Maid of the Mist Boat Tour, took the girls to Wegman's and finished up the day with Dave & Buster's.

It was a specatular weekend together and the Maid of the Mist was an experience we were really grateful to have - it's a really neat way to see Niagara Falls!

Another softball night out when Randy was away.
I am so lucky for Alissa's friendship. She knew having Randy away so much during the summer was going to be really difficult for me and went out of her way to help keep me busy!

The Hooley's came home for a wedding and we snuck in a short visit with them at Grammie & Pa's.

The Girl Scouts took a trip to Hershey Park and did lots of really cool things, including visiting caverns on the way home. I stayed behind this year because it was so close to the start of the semester but loved seeing all of the fun they were having!

Randy and I found ourselves home for a couple of days without the girls so we made some fun of our own! We went to Township 7 for drinks one night, In-Law Brewing Company with Pat and his brother Pete another night, and had dinner at 1844 House with Helen and Bill too!

With Summer quickly coming to an end we found ourselves with a free Sunday so we made an impromptu trip to the Thousand Islands region and visiting Boldt Castle. It was the girls and my first time seeing it and it was a beautiful day to wander around Heart Island.

Our little garden has done well this year. Here's our second harvest:

It's been an awesome summer that as usual went by way too fast but we packed in a lot of great memories and are looking forward to the start of a new school year!
