Swim Time

The hot July weather we've had would make anyone want to take a dip and cool off and our girls are no exception!  We've swam in our neighbors pool twice this week and it's been fun because Stella and Claire have had the chance to meet some new children to play with!  On Saturday we went to Micaela's graduation party, not without a swim in their pool too!  Sunday we visited Cole's Creek State Park for 'Worship on the Water', a service with 4 area United Methodist Churches followed by a pot-luck lunch.  Afterward we checked out their beach and playground and had an awesome family day in the summer sun.

Staying busy

Some other highlights from our week included a visit to story-time at our local library where the girls made superhero masks and checked out their first Library Book "Bad Cat puts on his top hat" (which was a little silly!), daddy's birthday, playing our new game 'Hullabaloo' with Toby, (and daddy, and mommy, actually with whoever will play!) a quick stop at the Potsdam Summer Festival on the way to have dinner with grammie and pa, some craft time right here at home, and a letter arrived from school letting us know Stella's kindergarten teacher will be Mrs. Hahn with a list of school supplies to shop for.  Stella was pretty excited to see the list!  And lastly, to top off a really great day on Sunday, the Gemini Cricket Ice cream truck came by.  While the truck is different now, this was just like the early 90's when we'd be playing at our families camp in Parishville and we'd hear the music and race to ask for a sweet treat!

The girls had their faces painted at the Summer Festival.  Claire chose a butterfly and Stella a rainbow.  We tried to capture the fun after dinner but neither were really that enthused about having their pic taken!

The girls were changing out of their swim suits
when we heard the ice cream truck.  They
clearly grabbed whatever clothes they could
find and scrambled out the door!

We discovered this fun game at RMH.  It's hard to find at a
reasonable price now, but daddy found one on Amazon!

Stella saw the idea to make hand prints with paint from the show Agent Oso.  When we were getting out the paint she found glitter - not mommy's favorite - but this was a fun activity they both enjoyed!
