Easter Break

We kicked off spring break with out last day of gymnastics for the spring semester.  The girls had a great time and loved getting medals for being part of the fun.

Afterward, we headed back to our house for a little get together with some friends.  Since the house is still going through a renovation mommy wasn't sure about having so many people over but eventually decided it wasn't worth skipping.  Easter is Stella's favorite holiday and we wanted to make the most of it!  We searched for some specific colored eggs to make things fair for all ages, made foil and sharpie decorated eggs, played lawn games, tried some minute-to-win it challenges, and played a pass the Easter Egg to see who ends up trying a physical activity challenge.  We also read Pete the Cat's Easter Adventure.  Mommy visited Stella's classroom as they mystery reader on the Wednesday before break.  Pete the Cat is Stella's favorite children's book series and we ordered this so the surprise would be doubly excited.  Unfortunately, Amazon did not come through for us.  The book sat waiting to be shipped for days.  It was still great to visit Stella's classroom and she did love sharing the book at the party!

Easter Sunday Church Dresses

Easter Morning Surprises
On Easter Sunday we played similar lawn games during children's church, after reading a book about the Easter story.  We've been playing with Resurrection Eggs for several weeks and the girls are starting to remember many of the details of why this holiday is so special for Christians.  In the afternoon we visited the Club II to enjoy their Easter buffet.  It was a really wonderful day!

A few other moments from our week:

The girls asked me to a play a game with them one night after dinner.  They brought down Operation.  When I told them I'd play after I cleaned up the dishes they toddled off and came back in these costumes.  I was so impressed with their creativity, particularly the gloves!

Visiting Lowe's

Someone lost a front tooth on the way
to Ronald McDonald House!
When Claire lost her tooth in the van, this is what she said:  "Mom, Mrs. Hahn says the tooth fairy will find you even if you aren't at home."  Well, Mrs. Hahn was right!

Since the weather hasn't yet turned we found some indoor fun when visiting Burlington.  This trip we went to Shelburne and toured the Teddy Bear Factory.  We all thought this was pretty neat!

We also split up a bit this time when Saturday night daddy took Stella bowling!

On Sunday, we visited Esme's house to see how big Eli has gotten and to visit with Caroline and Caleb.  They treated us to waffles and we had a nice time sitting in the sunshine enjoying each other's company!

On the trip home we stopped at the Plattsburgh Mall and Claire got her ears pierced!   She was so excited and was such a brave girl.  We waited until both employees were there so she could have both ears pierced at the same time, and while Mommy thought she might cry a little, there wasn't a single tear!  Hopefully she will like having them since they need to stay put for a while!

Stella wanted no part of having her ears pierced, largely because she wasn't interested in how much it might hurt.  She wouldn't even watch Claire to see how easy it really was.  But she was happy to take a selfie!

Back to school tomorrow!
