May Showers, No Flowers?

That old saying 'April Showers bring May Flowers' hasn't necessarily held true for this year.  May has brought plenty of rain with it and we are hoping for some steady sunshine soon.  We know summer is on its way though!  Here are some recent family pics since our last post:

 AWANA Theme night: Dress as your favorite Cartoon Character.  They chose the Mickey and the Roadster Racers characters and spent the afternoon putting together DIY costumes!














Date night for Mom & Dad!  Grammie and Pa came over for a sleepover while we headed to Ottawa for a NHL playoff game between the Senators and Rangers with the McCarthy's.  We had such a great time!  The energy was awesome and we had great seats.  Hockey is a game we both like to watch so it was a real treat.  Daddy was cheering for the Rangers, and Mommy was cheering for the Sens, who won in overtime play.  After the game we had dinner out and enjoyed some adult beverages - the guys even tried old fashions... 

 Saturday morning pancakes have become a tradition at our house - usually Mickey shaped with chocolate chips.  This morning the girls wanted to make pancake art and spent about an hour doing it!

Daddy had an AAU tournament recently and the girls helped shop for all kinds of snacks for the players. A trip to BJ's is always fun for them!  When we visited daddy at the tournament, the girls visited the check-in table and went crazy with the stamps.  They literally stamped every inch of their exposed bodies except for their faces. Those red spots didn't wash away very easily so it was a good thing too!

 We are still moving along with our building project, slow but steady.  The floor is almost complete, then the contractors will be back to put all of the finishing touches back together again.

Up next will be the above ground pool from the neighbors.  We aren't sure we are up for this challenge but are all in now so hopefully it come together before the summer weather arrives!
